Sreeleela was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Later, she moved to Bangalore, Karnataka, India, with her family. She started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 3 and completed her Arangetram by the age of eight.
After her schooling, she pursued an MBBS degree from a medical college in Bangalore. Despite her medical aspirations, she began acting during her studies.
In 2017, Indian film director A. P. Arjun discovered her on Instagram and cast her in his film Kiss. She was 16 years old when filming began in 2017.
